Predelta National Park and Delta del Paraná Biosphere Reserve (Argentina)

The Delta del Paraná Biosphere Reserve is a coastal freshwater delta of the Paraná River located just north of Buenos Aires, while the Predelta National Park is located in the Argentine Mesopotamia, at the beginning of the delta. It is an area rich in biodiversity including species that find their southernmost limit of distribution.

Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta National Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve, Tayrona National Natural Park (Colombia)

The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta National Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve overlooks the Caribbean coast of northern Colombia. It is a sanctuary as well as a tourist attraction because it offers different climate, terrain, flora and fauna environments, ranging from beaches to snowy mountain peaks.

The location of this unique transboundary site in Central America, where Quaternary glaciers have left their mark, has allowed the fauna and flora of North and South America to interbreed. Four different Indian tribes inhabit this area, which benefit from close cooperation between Costa Rica and Panama.
