Gran Chaco (South America)

The Gran Chaco or Dry Chaco is a sparsely populated, hot and semi-arid lowland natural region, divided among eastern Bolivia, western Paraguay, northern Argentina and a portion of Brazil. With a high biodiversity, it contains South America's second largest forest, behind only the Amazon Rainforest.

The Iguazú National Park, located in the northeastern tip of Argentina, is situated on a basaltic line spanning the border with Brazil. The semicircular waterfall at the heart of this site is made up of many cascades producing vast sprays of water and is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world.
