Nestled off Cuba's southern shores, the Jardines de la Reina archipelago beckons as an aquatic haven, revered for its untouched coral reefs and flourishing marine habitats. This expansive sanctuary, encompassing over 250 coral islands and cays, is one of Cuba's most significant protected regions, boasting dual distinctions as a marine reserve and a national park. Renowned for its translucent waters and immaculate coral formations, the area teems with a rich array of marine biodiversity.

Old Havana (Habana Vieja) is the historic center and one of the boroughs forming the city of Havana, Cuba. Founded in 1519, Havana is one of the most important colonial cities in the Americas. Its architecture spans five centuries and is a blend of different styles.

San Pedro de la Roca Castle is a multi-level stone fortress built to protect the vital port of Santiago de Cuba. UNESCO cites this intricate complex of forts, magazines, bastions and batteries as the most complete, best-preserved example of Spanish-American military architecture.

The Sierra del Rosario is located in the eastern part of Cuba's Guaniguanico mountain range, the site of the first significant coffee plantation in the New World. The Biosphere Reserve protects tropical forests with evergreen and semi-deciduous environments.

Turquino National Park is located in Santiago de Cuba Province, southeastern Cuba. The park is situated within the Sierra Maestra mountain range that runs westward across the south of the old Oriente Province in southeast Cuba, rising abruptly from the coast.

Trinidad and the nearby Valle de los Ingenios are located in the central Cuban province of Sancti Spíritus. Founded in the early 16th century, its existence is owed to the sugar industry that flourished there and in the nearby valley from the late 18th century to the late 19th century.

Viñales Valley, in far western Cuba, exhibits an outstanding karst landscape, encircled by mountains and dotted with spectacular dome-like limestone outcrops. The valley, also a National Park, is home to an original culture who once worked the tobacco plantations.
